So I thought I’d do something a bit different tonight. I decided to attend a discussion group - the first item in the Events listing when I looked for Discussions, in fact.
I found myself in the Hotel and Quay at The Village, part of an area that is, apparently, a tribute to Portmeirion and The Prisoner. It was a pleasantly-rendered hotel that looked comfortable and was arranged with group discussions in mind. There were plenty of people turned out for the discussion on the topic of commitment in Second Life and its meaning to people’s First Lives.
As these things tend to go, discussion headed straight for that catch-all topic of “how real is SL to you?” with some interesting ideas and opinions put forward by all. The topic is one that doesn’t have a “correct” answer as such but it’s always interesting to talk about.
Anyone interested in some chin-stroking and friendly discussion should check out The Village.
